Spark Comic #35 - New Friends

Hello, Sparky Fans! My appologies the lack of comics lately. It's getting near the end of term and there's a bunch of things that I have to work on. I might make a special bonus comic next week, but otherwise, I'm officially on hiatus for a few weeks until I sort out my academics. That takes priority and I hope you understand.

The ideas for Optimist Prime and Negatron were inspired by an image I saw on the internet ages ago. Only recently have I found out who the artist was and they're on DeviantArt! Check it out! :)

Over the winter break and into January, I met up with a lot of different people (and even more people throughout this whole academic year). I always have this nagging feeling in the back of my head whenever I'm uncertain of things or decisions, but especially when I meet people for the first time. I've spent most of my life being considered a social outcast by most people, many of which I've barely said anything to, prior to starting University so my curiousity is usually set aflame in this respect. After the meetup I always end up having a bit of a mental argument, featuring doppelgangers that may or may not look like Transformers, to sort of evaluate myself since I'm very hypercritical of myself in retrospect. . I like meeting new people and they were all pretty awesome, but by the end I always kept having self doubts and slight anxiety about myself, even though I'm normally just polite and act naturally with everyone I meet. Thankfully, I keep in contact with a good chunk of the people I've met recently and in fact have made many fantastic friends since I started at Ryerson. Still, with such an overreactive part of my personality constantly nudging me, I thought it would be a great topic to turn into an entertaining and silly comic.

This comic was REALLY fun to draw. I've realized this before, but this was the first time I really took note at how much I LOVE to draw charicatures of people. I'm not very good at it yet, but I still find it incredibly fun to do. Amidst the stress of my busy life lately, I couldn't help but smile while drawing the charicatures in the first panel. Detailing the Transformers was also fun as I put smiley faces and edited logos on the design. :)

I hope you enjoyed this. See you next comic! :)
