Greetings and welcome back to Spark Comics. Sorry for the delay on this one as it's been a busy week and Canada Day weekend and I had to deal with some unexpected exporting issues.
Last Summer, I finished An/Other and completed my Master's Degree. I released the game on my website with little fanfare...
... Then all this stuff happened.
It's been a crazy past few months, especially when my popularity with the project peaked in May. I didn't expect to show An/Other to hundreds of people at several exhibitions or get featured on TV and news articles. It just happened. To be honest, it was pretty overwhelming and I was not used to all the attention. I'm glad my 15 minutes of fame seem to be over for now, but as overwhelmingly insane as it all was, I'm grateful for all of it. More than just having a great experiences, An/Other was able to inspire social change throught he players that played it and challenged them to think critically on the issues it presents. That's why I made An/Other. That is why it is undoubtedly a success.
I know many people who don't think they matter or that their ideas aren't worth anything. I wanted to make this comic to inspire everyone to pursue their ideas and their dreams. You never know where they will take you and it may take you places you'd never expect. This goes for everyone, not just artists. If you know someone who has dreams and ideas, support and believe in them, and they can create amazing things. I have a firm belief that everyone has the potenial to make the world a better place and we all have to find our own ways how. I know that you (yes, you) can make amazing things. We may not know each other, but I believe in you.
I hope this shows comic shows you the power of your ideas and your potiental to do great things.
See you next comic.
P.S. The following are the news reports about An/Other in May. I recommend playing An/Other first to avoid spoilers.
